If you’re looking for a young, creative, and dynamic company building a reputation for outstanding animation, CGI and visual effects
– then welcome to Studio Moo.
We opened for business in the summer of 2010, following successful careers with other companies. But there comes a time when the only way to produce the work you know you’re capable of is to run your own company: when you’re happy for the buck to stop at your desk
In our first eighteen months we’ve worked with some of the biggest brands on the planet, with our work appearing in games, ads, on TV and in feature films. We’ve been privileged to work with some seriously talented people, working directly with our clients and with their advertising agencies. We’re based in Newcastle – rapidly emerging as one the key creative centres in the UK – and we’re already working with clients throughout the UK.
At Studio Moo we make one promise to all our clients: “We won’t go home until you are completely happy.” Just as importantly, we won’t go home until we’re completely happy. We’ll always deliver our absolute best: no corners cut, no compromises.

The Life and Loves of Davey Miller

Grew up wanting be fighter jet pilot – but only Monday to Friday. Alan Shearer on Saturday
Fell in love with design, animation and skinny carrot jeans
Realised design and animation caused less pain
Joined animation company in Newcastle. The journey began…
“Davey was the go-to guy when you needed a problem fixed with zero fuss, or when there was no other way but sheer hard work and talent. [His] attitude and determination saw Davey complete mammoth tasks where others would have wavered or lost focus…”
Became awesome at rendering, animation and modelling
Worked on visual effects and animation for TV and film…
…and on games for the Xbox, PS3, Wii, iPhone and iPad
Industry awards started to roll in
Fixed new shelf in spare bedroom ‘cos awards had to go somewhere. But something was still missing…
“Davey is a fantastically creative and skilled animator. He’s brilliant in Maya, can work to tight deadlines and has a sense of dedication that is rare.”
“…And he’s a good laugh as well…”
Left animation company in Newcastle
Walked across the Tyne Bridge and started Studio Moo in Gateshead
“Bryony and I are going to be around for a long time. We’re aiming to build a world class company here, giving our clients absolutely brilliant animation, games, visual effects, iPhone apps – and outstanding service.”

A Short History of Bryony Catlow
Watched TV aged 8. Saw credits at the end of a cartoon. Realised people made cartoons!! Knew that was what she wanted to do
Taught herself animation using a 16mm Bolex camera (go on, Google image it…)
1996 came. Set up 3 Bear Animations with her two sisters
Astonished at how quickly clients started to give them money – Dulux, Saatchi & Saatchi…
Awards quickly followed – and friends stopped making jokes about playing with plasticine…
“Bryony is a fantastically talented and professional individual … a devastating creative force on every project.”
2008 – the world was changing. A new challenge was needed. Crossed over to the Dark Side and learnt Maya, a 3D software package
Morphed into games animator. Fortunately remained a Star Wars free zone her desk did
Produced animation for games on the Xbox, PS3, Wii and iPhone
Began to hear small voice whispering ‘create your own company…’ The same voice that Davey was hearing.
“Bryony is an incredible creative artist … loved and respected by everyone she works with.”
“A wonderful person everyone should work with. Or at least meet for a cup of tea.”
By the summer of 2010 couldn’t resist the small voice any longer
Opened the door of Office 16 and welcomed the world to Studio Moo
“Our first year has been incredible. Long hours, a few sleepless nights – but projects and clients which we are genuinely proud of. Best of all, Davey and I know that this is just the beginning…”
